Sometimes In April

Yes, I know we’re not in April.

Beginning of film…

In the end,
we will remember
not the words of our enemies,
but the silence of our friends

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I have always had a passion for helping people which is probably why I look at movies with a message and/or based on true events. I have always wanted to go on a missionary trip but have never gone due to having a family – being married. Who knows though, maybe once all the kids are grown and out the house, I’ll be in the position to do so. There are couples who go on missionary trips as well, so maybe L would be all for it or at the very least support my decision to go.

Sometimes In April is based upon true events. Hotel Rwanda brought attention to those of us that had no clue what was going on. While some may say – it’s not our problem – events like the Rwandan war could very well happen here. Just because we aren’t being affected – directly – by certain events that aren’t taking place on American soil, doesn’t mean we should just sit back and pretend that the atrocities perpetrated against another human being, aren’t happening.
There are plenty of ways to help.

Like the bible verse that reads…
A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken  Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NLV)

Hopefully before I leave this earth, I will be able to do a trip through – Compassion as well to meet our sponsored child. If youre planning on doing missionary work, this is a GREAT blog on why you shouldn’t become a missionary
