We’ve been at our current spot for the last 7, almost 8 months. You can read about that – here.
I went back and forth on whether we should rent a house (not really interested in buying) or renting an apartment. After much prayer and based on some issues from the past, I chose apartment living – for now. I started putting in applications at a few locations and was approved for the 1st one I applied to a few days later. Thrilled would be an understatement.
Crazy thing is, I only knew what the floor plan was like via the website and what the apartment actually looked like in the inside by doing searches via Google. I was very pleased by what I saw. One night, the hubster and I did a drive by to check out the location and surroundings. We, especially him, loved the location and it doesn’t hurt that we are near just about everything such as restaurants, the mall, etc. Score!
Monday, I had an appointment with my endocrinologist and after visiting my doctor and eating lunch, the hubster suggested we stop by to see our new apartment (we’re scheduled to move in the middle of the month) and I’m so happy that we did. I’m loving that it has an exercise room that’s open 24 hrs a day, a pool and considering that I’m Black, I don’t think I will need the use of a tanning bed (ha) although I do get some killer tan lines (whistles at myself).
We are currently renting a 2 bedroom/2 bath room but hoping to move into a 3 bedroom at some point. Ive always loved having the master bedroom on the other side of the house and we have that in our apartment. It will take some ingenuity to accommodate our belongings (currently in storage) but what we truly don’t need will be given to Goodwill or my (step)daughter.
I’m really looking forward to having an oven, pantry, balcony and dishwasher. *sigh* I can be so easy to please that it’s sickening at times…LOL!! With the hubster and his love for gaming, it will be nice to not hear his boom boom. It’s like a sensory overload or something. Actually I can deal with it when there’s just talking (unless the sound is up too loud) but the loud booms really mess with me. If you play games like Battlefield, then you know what I mean. I Love You Hunni *smooches*
Anywho, here are a few pictures. New carpet was installed and I will be going a day ahead of our move in to wipe down the cabinets, fridge, etc. Im a bit OCD and well, yeah….A few pics below….*Click To Enlarge*
We wont have a dedicated office (space) so off to Pinterest I went. I typed in: small closet office space and came across the one in the picture below. Credit to the owner: Elizabeth Jones Designs. I was worried about the background (design) but I think it makes the area feel less like a closet. Thankfully the door opens all the way up as well.
I’m a sucker for wall vinyls and hoping to buy this one I found on Amazon.
I’m also looking forward to setting up our balcony. I will finally be able to get some plants, I love sitting outside, especially if it’s nice out, to sip coffee or wine while reading a book or just to take in the fresh air. I came across this website on how to decorate a small balcony….
Looking forward to this next journey….
