Today I reached my 50th workout at my gym. I received a t-shirt to celebrate that milestone.
When I first started doing HIIT, I bout died. I still feel that way when I go workout and in my head, I’m saying all sorts of cuss words. LOL! But once the workout is over, I’m pretty proud of myself and happy that I got it done. I never would have thought I’d be someone that enjoyed going to the gym to workout.
I like to do my workout in the mornings which is the 6:15 a.m. class during the week. I’m up usually around 5:30 so I give myself enough time to brush my teeth, get dressed, feed the cat and eat a light snack. Also, this gives me enough time to get to the gym so I can stretch and get a warm-up in to get my heart rate slightly up.
If the class is already filled for that time, then I’ve gone around noon. I also workout on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I lean more towards the build class vs burn, since build focuses more on strength training but also incorporates some cardio too.
However, today I was a bit late because we’ve had some major rain happening. I noticed that with my not warming up, I didn’t do as well as I normally do + I hadn’t been to class since last week due to the weather. But that’s okay, I still managed to get a good workout in.
You have the option to purchase their heart rate monitor, which then shows where your heart rate is (along with everyone else’s) while you’re exercising on screens. You don’t have to use your real name. I go by Southern Princess but didn’t mind saying who I was by my real name. Also, I find that it motivates me to push a little harder if anything else being able to see where I’m at heart rate wise. After the workout, you can view your stats through the app or your email. I can honestly say that I have never felt out of place and realized that the only person I’m in competition with is myself.

I absolutely love my gym. I go to Regymen Fitness. The first workout is free, which gives you an opportunity to see if it’s right for you. The trainers are amazing and willing to help you when it comes to using the proper form, they motivate you and give you several alternatives. The staff are always welcoming and know you by name and I workout with some kick ass people as well.
50 workouts down with hopefully 50 + more to go.
