One would think living in an apartment that there’s not much decorating you can do. I beg to differ *smiling*. I really don’t have a particular style; my main goals are functionality and comfortable. At times I do miss having a house but then I think about all the cleaning I used to do and I’m like “nah, I’m good!”. At least for now anyway.
I’m sooo happy that I went with a sectional for our living room. It’s super comfortable. The top of the coffee table lifts up and there’s storage underneath as well. I do need a better rug than the one that was previously there. The mirror above sectional will be replaced with a oversize wall clock with pictures on both sides.
I absolutely LOVE apartment living. We are centrally located to just about everything and the amenities here suit us just well. At this point in time in our lives, and especially in mine, I have no desire to buy a home or even live in a house. Been there! Done that!
Yes, my home is usually uncluttered and clean; unless I’m purging or rearranging. This is something that I learned from my mother. Even when my (bonus)children lived with us full time, they had their own space which they had to keep clean or stuff went to the trash. Considering we don’t have as much space now, the kids play in their room which they have to clean up before going back to their moms house. Age by Age Chore Chart
I did a bit of a change to our home which was way out the norm for me. I’ve always been into richer tones like reds and browns. I went with hues of blue for this makeover. I still have a few things I’d like to buy/add but in all due time. For now, I’m pretty happy with what I’ve done so far. Continue reading “Apartment Living; Our Home”→
The apartment we’re currently renting is actually a pretty good size. However, the hubster and I lost our “private” spaces sort of speak. In our last 2 homes, he had a man cave and I could at least use one of our walk in closets as office space.
Here in the apartment, I’m using a tiny closet (still in need of a make-over) and he is using our master bedroom. He is a gamer and I’m not. He originally wanted to have a set-up in the living room to play his games but I just couldn’t see how that would work. I enjoy watching movies and there’s no way you’d be able to watch and hear what’s on T.V. when there’s the distraction of game playing, especially since he converses with other gamer’s. So he set up his PS4 in our master bedroom. However, it isn’t ideal at the moment and I’m working to change that because I want him to be comfortable. Continue reading “Master Bedroom Make-Over…”→
We’ve been at our current spot for the last 7, almost 8 months. You can read about that – here.
I went back and forth on whether we should rent a house (not really interested in buying) or renting an apartment. After much prayer and based on some issues from the past, I chose apartment living – for now. I started putting in applications at a few locations and was approved for the 1st one I applied to a few days later. Thrilled would be an understatement.
Crazy thing is, I only knew what the floor plan was like via the website and what the apartment actually looked like in the inside by doing searches via Google. I was very pleased by what I saw. One night, the hubster and I did a drive by to check out the location and surroundings. We, especially him, loved the location and it doesn’t hurt that we are near just about everything such as restaurants, the mall, etc. Score!
Monday, I had an appointment with my endocrinologist and after visiting my doctor and eating lunch, the hubster suggested we stop by to see our new apartment (we’re scheduled to move in the middle of the month) and I’m so happy that we did. I’m loving that it has an exercise room that’s open 24 hrs a day, a pool and considering that I’m Black, I don’t think I will need the use of a tanning bed (ha) although I do get some killer tan lines (whistles at myself). With Summer coming to an end, Wal-Mart dropped their prices on patio furniture.
Patio set – $148.00 ($50.00 off)
Outdoor rug – $35.00 ($15.00 off)
I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out. Ive FINALLY been able to get the pool cleared/cleaned so we can swim. The only thing left is to clean up tent and finish the area where fire pit is. The fire pit cost us $48.00 ($40.00 off) I think Id like to get 2 more of the adirondack chairs to place on the other side of the wall on the patio. Those are $16.00 a piece.
